Dear Members,

As many parts of Ontario are entering Phase 2, we are all anxiously awaiting for the announcement that the Region of Peel can also begin Phase 2.  All of our fingers are crossed in hope that this announcement comes soon!

As we wait, we wanted to let you know that the board is busy creating a plan for the opening of the pool according to provincial health requirements. We are preparing signage, ground markings, prepping hand sanitizing stations and PPE for the lifeguards.  Training sessions on the new health guidelines are also being created for the lifeguards.

One requirement that we want to bring to your attention is that the pool requires a health inspection at least 14 days before being permitted to open. We have the paperwork ready and are just waiting to find out when we can open in order to submit it.

Like the province, we are going to open the pool in stages.  Stage 1 is to get the pool open and operational so that members can start to use and enjoy the pool.  During Stage 1, there will be no programming or swimming lessons and no use of the side yard.  Once we are comfortable with stage 1 and all members are doing their part to keep the pool environment safe, we will then enter Stage 2 where we will work to introduce some programming.  There is an overwhelming number of guidelines that need to be implemented in order to run programs and lessons but we are working on creating a plan that is equitable to all members.

We know that there are many more questions about how the pool will operate and the board will continue to communicate information to you as decisions are made.
